Corrections Policy

At DigitalPor, we are committed to delivering news that is accurate, fair, and responsible. Despite our best efforts, errors may occasionally occur. This Corrections Policy outlines how we identify, address, and correct inaccuracies in our published content.

1. Commitment to Accuracy

We take accuracy seriously. All of our articles go through fact-checking and editorial review before publication. However, if an error is discovered, whether factual, grammatical, or contextual, we address it promptly and transparently.

2. Identifying Errors

Errors may be brought to our attention by:

  • Our editorial or fact-checking team during post-publication review.
  • Readers or the public through comments, emails, or social media.
  • Individuals or organizations mentioned in our reports.

If you believe there is an error in one of our articles, please contact us at:
📧 [insert contact email]
📝 Or use our Contact Us page to report inaccuracies.

3. Types of Corrections

We classify corrections into the following categories:

  • Minor Corrections: Spelling mistakes, grammar issues, or typographical errors that do not change the meaning or context of the article. These are corrected without a formal note.
  • Major Corrections: Errors that affect the accuracy or credibility of the article (e.g., incorrect names, figures, dates, quotes, or factual misrepresentations). These are corrected along with a Correction Note at the end of the article explaining what was changed and why.
  • Updates: When new verified information becomes available after publication, the article is updated, and a note is added stating:
“This article has been updated to include new information available as of [date/time].”

4. Transparent Correction Notes

When we make a significant correction, we add a “Correction Note” at the bottom of the article, clearly stating:

  • What the error was.
  • What has been corrected.
  • The date the correction was made.

Example:

Correction (April 23, 2025): A previous version of this article incorrectly stated that the project was launched in 2022. It has been corrected to 2023.

5. Article Retraction

In rare and serious cases, if an article is found to be entirely inaccurate, misleading, or ethically problematic, we may retract the article. In such cases:

  • The article will be removed.
  • A public retraction notice will be published in its place.
  • An explanation will be provided, with accountability maintained.

6. Responsibility and Accountability

We believe that owning up to our mistakes and correcting them strengthens our journalistic integrity. All staff and contributors are trained to follow this policy, and we regularly review our editorial processes to improve accuracy.

7. Reader Trust

We value our readers’ trust above all. This policy is part of our broader effort to maintain transparency, accountability, and high editorial standards in our reporting.
